Pure Love & Pleasure – A Record Of Pure & Pleasure (1970)

Anyone who wants to can call this underrated hippie pop from the early 70 ‘s. But on the other hand, turned up lots of these bands at the time. Bands that wanted to make the same journey as Jefferson Airplane but in a nicer way. For the most part, it was sunshinepop, which is about where Pure Love & Pleasure ports.
Pure Love & Pleasure recorded only a single disc, inspired by everything from psychedelia to blues, jazz and brittpop. Because the plate was recorded in Los Angeles, there are, of course, Jefferson Airplane-sound and even Mama’s & Papa’s in the background.
I also want to mention producer Steve Barri is, of course, Pure Love & Pleasure is a typical creation for his part and has all the characteristics that an LP from the record label Dunhill had during that time.
Pure Love & Pleasure consisted of five members; Fazlu Rogers, drums, David McAnally, the song, Pegge Ann May, vocals, Bob Bohanna, guitar, John Allair, piano. Bohanna, a Moreover right driven guitarist, had previously played with the band Morning Glory, which in 1968 issued the LP Two Suns Worth.
One of the best guitarists I heard from this epoch, but not always possible to compare with Jorma Kaukonen.
Pure Love & Pleasure just released an album, more was not. It’s probably worth having in your collection for those who have an attraction for sunshinepop, and psychedelics.
